Automatic Connect on Wi-Fi

As Tablets Become Mainstream Mobile Business Tools, VyprVPN Provides iPad Users with Secure and Private access to the Internet

MEGGEN, Switzerland – April 1, 2014 – Golden Frog, a global privacy company, today released a new VyprVPN app specifically for the iPad. As the use of tablets as mobile computing devices has grown dramatically, they have become a popular target for hackers and data sniffers. VyprVPN for the iPad automatically encrypts mobile Internet connections, reducing the risk of data theft and privacy breaches.

VyprVPN is an extremely fast, secure and stable personal VPN service that defeats the monitoring of online communications, protects online privacy, and preserves an open and free Internet. It also prevents wireless providers or ISPs from performing deep-packet inspection to slowdown and prioritize the data sent to and from the iPad.

VyprVPN for iOS gives customers a new interactive “Map View” feature for the iPad. With Map View, users can easily browse global server locations from their VyprVPN home screen and search for locations by swiping directly on the map. Users can select a server location and VyprVPN will automatically ping the server and display the ping time.

“iPad users are always searching for a Wi-Fi Internet connection, but hopping on a public network is a serious security risk,” said Sunday Yokubaitis, president of Golden Frog. “By introducing a VyprVPN app optimized for the iPad, we have provided users with an easy setup and a visual experience so they can get a secure, encrypted Internet connection no matter where they are.”

Unlike most VPN providers, Golden Frog owns and manages 100% of its own servers, hardware and global network to ensure the highest levels of speed and service delivery. All VyprVPN users get unlimited bandwidth and connection speeds and are able to switch between VyprVPN servers worldwide without restrictions or download caps at no additional charge.

VyprVPN for iOS is now optimized for your iPad! We’ve developed the latest version with iPad design features in mind to give VyprVPN members the best experience possible when running VyprVPN on their iPad. VyprVPN for iOS will automatically detect if you are on an iPad and engage our new interactive Map View feature.

With Map View, you can easily browse our global VPN server locations from the app default screen in both portrait and landscape view. You now have the ability to search for server locations by swiping directly on the interactive map. You can also select the location you would like to connect to and the app will automatically ping the server and display the ping time. Connect to any VyprVPN server location without ever leaving the home screen!

If you currently use VyprVPN for iOS, update your app to the latest version. If you don’t already have the app, you can download VyprVPN for iOS from the App Store.

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new server location in Mexico City, Mexico! The new server location is available to use with PPTP, L2TP/IPsec, OpenVPN and Chameleon. VyprVPN members now have access to servers in 43 locations in North America, South America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

We added a new VyprVPN server location in São Paulo, Brazil, our first in South America! The 2014 World Cup in Brazil kicks off June 12th and many of you may be traveling to see the games. Now you can secure your connection on unknown WiFi hotspots, access your favorite sites and maintain fast Internet connections, all by connecting to our Brazil server location. During the most recent Winter Olympics games, many of our members traveled to Sochi, and were able to use VyprVPN to stay secure. Connect to our VPN server in Brazil this June and secure your Internet during the World Cup!

Public Wi-Fi hotspots at coffee shops, airport and hotels have become increasingly insecure. Cellular networks also share similar security concerns. Even worse, cellular carriers are also leveraging Wi-Fi to carry smartphone traffic in order to alleviate cellular network, compromising mobile communications. However, users are sometimes too busy or forget to turn on VyprVPN when accessing insecure Wi-Fi and cellular networks. We want to make it easier for our users to protect themselves, so that’s why we added the automatic connect on unknown Wi-Fi and cellular settings into the 2.3 versions of our Android, Windows and Mac apps. Unfortunately, due to iOS restrictions, we are not able to offer the automatic connect settings for the VyprVPN for iOS app at this time.
